London Fashion week is one of the semi-annual "Big 4" fashion weeks (the others being in New York, Milan and Paris). Each edition draws the attendance of about 5000 buyers and press representatives, with transactions worth 50-100 million pounds. The event showcases the works of 150 prestigious designers from 20 countries. As with the other fashion weeks, it is not a show open to the public and special accreditation must be given to attend. Most of all, the aim of the show is to promote British fashion

The show is organized by the British Fashion Council and supported by the London Development Agency. The first London Fashion Week was held in 1984, featuring only women's fashion. In 2012, however, men's fashion was added to the event.

The next edition of the show will take place on February 20th until the 24th of February, 2015 at the Somerset House in Central London.
