Video Game Expo Convention

The Tokyo Game Show, commonly known as TGS, is a video game expo convention held annually in the Makuhari Messe, in Chiba, Japan. It is presented by the Computer Entertainment Supplier's Association (CESA) and the Nikkei Business Publications, Inc. The main focus is Japanese games although it is used by a few international video game developers to show off their upcoming games and game-related hardware as well.

Last year, over 200 companies joined TGS, which venue was filled with 1,250 booths. On the opening day of the Business Day, Asia Game Business Summit, an event organized by five major game companies in Asia, as well as three keynote forums, is hosted. This event grabs the headlines around the world, not to mention the attention of visitors. Also, the deployment of the business matching system and meeting spaces as measures to enhance business functions won a high mark from the participant companies and visitors.

The Tokyo Game Show showcases several exhibition areas, including: General Exhibition Area, Game Device Area, Asia New Stars Area, Merchandise Sales Area, Smartphone Game & Social Game Area, PC Area, Kids’ Area, Game School Area, Sales Area, Cosplay, Business Solution Area, Cloud/Data Center Pavilion.

TOKYO GAME SHOW holds Asia Game Business Summit, an international conference that is aimed at expanding game business with a core of the Asian region.

Additionally, at Business Day, TOKYO GAME SHOW holds a conference with a focus on the latest technology and business trends subject to the gaming industry participants. Through the holding of the Forum, TOKYO GAME SHOW attracts the the attendance of high-quality industry participants from Japan and abroad.

TOKYO GAME SHOW has implemented a wide range of measures with our mid-term vision to realize “The Most Complete Information in Asia” and “The World’s Largest Event.” As a result, the show is now assuming an increasingly important role in the context of diversifying platforms, and expanding markets owing to the rapid growth of emerging countries, mainly in Southeast Asia.
